*Please Note: This position is based in Paylocity's Chicagoland Corporate Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois and will require a candidate to be onsite. We are open to relocation for the right individual!*

 

We are looking for a Director of Sales Training & Development who will drive rapid training innovation, development and delivery throughout Paylocity’s Sales Organization, with the business goal of creating a scalable and sustainable sales program across all levels of that organization from entry through leadership.  Responsibilities include evaluating the effectiveness, success, and impact of the onboarding and training initiatives in measurable ways, ensuring ongoing improvement of the program and curriculum through the sales life cycle.  This highly visible position requires the flexibility to simultaneously create and implement all aspects of the sales training process in a fast-paced, growing environment. Using leading edge industry knowledge, he/she will develop and drive training strategy, philosophy and systems to meet organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  •  

    • Apply your experience and expertise to oversee the development and implementation of all training programs within the Paylocity sales organization (new hires, current reps and managers).
    • Collaborate with Executive team to establish a strategic vision to building high impact training programs that align to strategic operational initiatives and expectations.
    • Work closely with Sales Management at all levels to determine training needs, identify skill gaps, and assess training effectiveness.
    • Maintain a direct, collaborative relationship with the sales organization to successfully acquire, develop and/or maintain up-to-date training information.
    • Build and grow a team to create curriculum and manage ongoing lesson plans to ensure all sales employees receive consistent, ongoing training through a blended learning approach (live training, e-learning, and self-guided learning).
    • Continuously evaluate effectiveness of training programs and tools, and improve/adjust as appropriate.
    • Oversee the creation content for best-in-class training materials and collaborate with Marketing to ensure materials are consistent with branding standards.

Qualifications:

  •  

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Experience leading the design and deployment of broad sales training programs is required
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in a learning and development/training role, 2-3 years’ success as a training manager or sales manager in a high-growth organization (2-3 years in a sales environment/organization preferred)
    • Proven leadership and facilitation of cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with IT, Finance, Marketing and Talent
    • Proven experience building, implementing, and fine-tuning sales training programs
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills, particularly to senior executives
    • Significant experience in developing facilitator-led training and Web-based training
    • Proven track record of effective team leadership and management of a dynamic training program.
    • Ability to be an organizational leader and clearly communicate and execute large scale plans.
    • Exhibit project management skills in developing, leading and tracking project activities.
    • Must be willing to travel.
    • Strong analytical, business intelligence and project management skills
    • Expertise/exposure to Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce or other CRM tools a plus 
    • Understanding of SaaS, software sales and reoccurring revenue models a plus
    • Payroll/Financial software industry and HCM knowledge a plus
