Head of Client Growth

Nerdery is seeking a Head of Client Growth to lead the Client Partner and Business Development teams (collectively, the “Client Growth” team) through the company’s next phase of growth. Nerdery is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader who can both effectively lead and influence C-suite client executives and also motivate and inspire a growth and results-oriented team. This leader will have a proven track record of growth through new business development in strategic consulting services. 

Nerdery is exceptionally well-positioned for growth both organically and inorganically.  The value proposition, market opportunity, and product portfolio for Nerdery will continue to evolve, and the Head of Client Growth will set the Client Growth strategy to capitalize on new market opportunities.  The Head of Client Growth will partner with the CEO and the senior executive team to lead the Client Growth function successfully and position the organization for long-term success in a highly competitive and dynamic market.

The Head of Client Growth will have responsibility for driving growth across all Nerdery offices nationally, with a special emphasis on expansion, market penetration, client service, and team building.  Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Client Growth will build trusted relationships and partnerships internally with employees and externally with customers and other stakeholders. They will work closely with regional leaders as well as our Delivery organization to effectively position Nerdery to win and grow work in with our ideal client profile.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Serve as a senior member of the company’s leadership team with responsibility to lead across the business by personal example in upholding the company’s collaborative, player/coach culture
  •  and actively participating in C-level and Board-level discussions regarding overall company strategy and performance. 
  •  Institute sales and revenue generation processes that enable predictable, repeatable, and scalable market expansion going forward, including business development, partner programs, and pricing across all platforms.
  •  Scale the business with an integrated set of multi-disciplinary solutions by driving go to market strategies, expanding client growth and net new logos, building a great team, and evangelizing the product and solutions in the marketplace.  
  •  Lead, define and inspire the business development and client success teams responsible for building sales plans, create the value proposition for the company’s products and services, maintaining/improving customer satisfaction levels, and predictably meeting or exceeding defined targets.
  •  Gather and share key client insights with the delivery organization to influence feature development. 
  •  Partner with Marketing leadership to define value propositions, campaign messages, channel selection and budget allocation.
  •  Lead, enable, and strengthen the efforts around new business pursuits and play a role in driving movement into new deals.  
  •  Partner with finance to allocate resources to optimize the business's profit efficiency.
  •  Analyze customer data and insights to optimize business growth and profits.
  •  Recruit, train and retain a top tier sales talent promote and build an outcome-driven, disciplined sales culture focused on clients, quality, and growth. 
  •  Assess current and future sales and business development strategies to maximize revenue potential from existing/prospective clients.
  •  Manage and enforce the consistent use of data-driven, defined sales processes. 
  •  Help orchestrate opportunities to develop and communicate the company’s thought leadership and awareness in the industry, including building relationships with industry influencers.
  •  Actively sell/drive largest deals and build C- and SVP-level relationships with our strategic clients and actively serve as Client Partner for one to two key client accounts. 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  •  MBA with 10+ years of proven experience leading business growth with a combination of new logo and existing client expansion
  •  Experience in Executive Leadership roles in small to mid-sized professional service organizations ($30-150M revenue).
  •  Substantial consultative sales experience and leadership
  •  Proven success scaling a high-growth company or business unit
  •  Familiarity selling across a portfolio of complex services
  •  Ability to execute on and motivate a team around growth 
  •  Experience establishing an accountable, performance-driven culture.
  •  Experience building a scalable dependable model for driving consistent revenue growth.
  •  Excellent leadership and managerial skills
  •  Experience working cross-functionally to create a cohesive growth plan
  •  Results-oriented mindset - holds themselves accountable for short and long-term success
  •  Exceptional communication skills
  •  Strong background of operational and financial rigor and excellence
  •  Experience within Health and MedTech industries a plus
