 What you’ll be doing 

Work in close collaboration with the business analyst and head of commercial analytics and data strategy to serve as the team’s technical expert, supporting the underlying initial data product code base in SQL, R & Tableau when building and testing new product offerings and making revisions/enhancements to current product offerings.

Partner with the data engineering team to transform prototyped solutions into scalable, replicable, performance-optimized, and well-maintained new product offerings, or new revisions/enhancements to current product offerings.

Work in close collaboration with the data engineering team to assist with client-specific technical needs and data service-specific client integrations.

Create documentation for all externally focused data products, data dictionaries, and process maps (in strong collaboration with the data engineering team).

Serve as the primary contact responsible for responding to ad hoc questions from supplier & distributor sales teams, with a specific focus on clickstream/advertising data.

Support additional ad hoc, strategic analytics questions coming from the leadership team.

Assist the business analyst and head of commercial analytics and data strategy with sales calls, record necessary needs/asks, and ask as well as answer any necessary, technically oriented data questions.

Serve as the expert on all data products to support training both internal and external stakeholders on the tools available to these stakeholders.

Collaborate with the business analyst and data product manager to develop ongoing roadmap and narrative documents when developing new solutions and proposing enhancements to current solutions.

What we are looking for

Education & Professional Experience

BA/BS & Graduate Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field and 7+ years of relevant work experience OR 10+ years of relevant work experience (BA/BS is not required).

Extensive experience working with Nielsen, NABCA, IRI, and store-level data sources such as VIP & NABCA SAM data.

Experience developing and presenting data-driven insights and findings to cross-functional teams and executive leadership within the Beverage Alcohol industry.

Experience working for a large supplier, distributor, or retailer within the Beverage Alcohol industry. 

Technical Qualifications

Expertise in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets via R, Python & SQL, and accomplished in the use of statistical analysis environments.

Experience with relational databases such as SQL and NoSQL, as well as cloud-based analytics & computing capabilities.

Extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.

Demonstrated ability to independently prepare statistical analyses with accuracy and calibration within an established time frame.

Understanding of both structured and unstructured data, the benefits of both, and when / how to apply them.

Experience applying statistical concepts and knowledge to real-world applications.

Experience working with data engineering and architecture teams to deploy scalable, performance-optimized solutions.

Additional Qualifications

Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to discuss financial/business strategies and translate into actionable plans.

High degree of intellectual curiosity and a proactive self-starter who looks for relevant questions to be answered, with the ability to provide objective and impartial analysis.
