Groupon is looking for a Regional Sales Director to spearhead the growth of our Groupon+ sales team. This person will serve as the primary performance coach for a portion of the sales organization, motivating and inspiring their team to exceed their goals. The Regional Sales Director will report directly to the Regional Vice President of Sales and will collaborate with broader leadership to build a world-class sales management team and inside sales professionals.

They will be tasked with the hiring, development, and training of the sales force while maintaining a creating a game plan and vision of our overarching strategy in the region.

 

 

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  •  Motivate and lead a team of sales representatives to meet and exceed sales goals

  •  Manage a team of sales managers to meet or exceed their sales goals

  • Develop, train, mentor, and supervise teams on sales aspects including pipeline management, people management, and sales skills

  • Prioritize and allocate resources to ensure adequate support for entire region

  • Communicate the best approach to sales teams on merchant business categories and sectors, including (but not limited to): products and/or services, consumer demographics and ratings, points of competitive differentiation, merchant economic models, revenue and profit drivers

  •  Manage the sales team, serving as an advisor and assisting where necessary

  • Demonstrate a commitment to Groupon Leader Habits (people managers) and Values

Experience

  • 3+ years of B2B sales management experience

  • Track record of strong performance, growing sales teams, and increasing profitability

  • Ability to mentor, develop, and motivate both managers and salespeople

  • Evidence of successfully leading others to meet and exceed measurable sales and revenue goals

  • Demonstrated levels of agility, prioritization, and ownership required to succeed at start-up speed

  • Demonstrated ability to execute high-level initiatives

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate business value

  • Sales training and development experience a plus

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
