Sales Tax Manager - Indirect ( Remote)

What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an accounting concentration required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively and promptly with taxing jurisdictions, leadership, and internal customers
- Expert in time management, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Advanced U.S. indirect tax compliance experience (sales, use, gross receipts, and property taxes)
- Experience with Value-Added and like kind tax
- Experience researching indirect tax laws and documenting results for non-tax associates
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple requests and/or projects at once, and provide solutions to problems of diverse scope
- Experience working with and providing direction to outsourced service providers
- Experience working on cross-functional teams
- Experience with account reconciliation, troubleshooting reconciliation differences, and JE review/approval
- Ability to monitor and analyze tax law changes and the related impact to the Company
- Desire to act as a resource and mentor less experienced peers
- 5+ years of related experience
We'd Love to See:
- Experience with Vertex Q, Vertex O Series, Tableau, and Alteryx (or other similar tools used for business analytics/reporting)
- Experience writing process documentation, the ability to easily learn new skills and/or systems or applications
- Experience leading complex projects
- M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration experience
- Experience at a Big 4 firm
- CPA
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Impact You'll Make:
- Reporting to the Indirect Tax Senior Manager, the Manager I position will manage and review work prepared by outsourced service providers, review Consumer's Use tax report, provide tax approval on new product and credit requests, document current processes including workflows and work instructions, maintain taxability matrices, identify process gaps, identify financial exposures, collaborate on process improvement opportunities and help implement, reconcile and monitor Indirect Tax General Ledger accounts, assist and/or lead tax jurisdiction audits, assist or lead research projects, and prepare internal documentation.
- Manage the processes around the U.S. Consumer Use tax such as systems, a/p procedures, reporting, account reconciliation, etc. in order to determine accuracies and opportunities for improvement
- Manage the processes around U.S. Sales tax such as systems, customer invoicing, taxing, exemption certificate collection, indirect tax reporting, account reconciliation, etc. in order to effectively review tax charges and provide data to outsourced providers
- Develop understanding of Global indirect tax at Trans Union.
