Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

The Sr. Manager/Manager of Strategic Programs (MSP), Braintree Global Sales is an important role, contributing to propel the sales organization towards fulfilling its revenue goals, and delivering a path for accelerated growth across the Large Enterprise, Mid-Market, SMB and International teams. The primary role of the MSP is to manage Strategic Sales Programs that helps drive revenue growth and retention. Strategic programs can span across all Braintree sales functions (New Acquisition Sales, Account Management, Solution Engineering), other Braintree functions as well as PayPal counterparts. The role requires a highly resourceful individual with organizational skills, and deep understanding of the sales process, strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, as well as strong analytical skills.

This full-time position reports directly into the Director/Head of Global Sales Strategy & Planning of Braintree, with primary accountability to manage Strategic Programs for Braintree’s Global Sales Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Sales Management to identify and manage top risks with contingency and mitigation plans as well as top opportunities for revenue growth through strategic initiatives.
  • Building leadership and program structure around strategic initiatives to maximize results though alignment, driving collaboration, pulling the right company resources and ensuring accountability.
  • Develop trusted partnerships with all internal stakeholders to help build strategies and action plans that enable revenue acceleration.
  • Defining, establishing and maintaining the metrics for the programs managed.
  • Tracking milestones and tasks with program stakeholders - Identifying and removing impediments that block the group’s ability to meet program objectives.
  • Communicate and collaborate globally with all regions and across multiple levels/functions on scope, timing, process and implementation of assigned programs.
  • A few examples of strategic programs that could be assigned:
    • Sales/Product Feedback Loop – Ensuring proper process, stakeholders and communication
    • Red Accounts Program – Identifying High Churn Risk Accounts & ensuring proper management
    • New Product Adoption Program – Pulling resources necessary to successfully sell new products
    • Competitive Program – Track, Report and Make Recommendations to increase Competitiveness
    • Outbound Revenue Engine – Align SDR, Marketing and Sales efforts for best outcomes

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be high-energy, agile-minded, strategic, proactive, a direct communicator, highly-organized, calm under pressure and committed to the vision and values of Braintree. In addition, the following standards will generally define the successful incumbent:

  • BA/BS degree in Business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in sales management or business strategy/operations role
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheet and presentation software.
