Role: Snowflake Solution Architect
Slalom is seeking a Snowflake Architect to join our newly formed Regional Delivery Team – Midwest. This role sits in Chicago, and the team is a growth engine providing local markets access to cutting-edge capabilities and scarce expertise. You will help incubate and supporting delivery in our local Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, Columbus, and Minneapolis markets. The role will include 30-40% travel throughout the region.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical approach for Snowflake capabilities and provide oversight across multiple projects, working directly with both client and Slalom teams
- Conduct and lead white-boarding sessions, workshops, design sessions, and project meetings building strong client relations
- Lead analysis, architecture, design, and development of cloud and on-prem data warehouse and business intelligence solutions
- Collaborate in the creation/enhancement of data platform solutions to facilitate decision-making
- SME to drive all aspects of business development pursuit deliverables (proposals, RFPs, SOWs)
- Lead the estimating and planning of projects
- Help Slalom grow through the creation of IP and education of our consultants
- Build and develop new client/alliance relationships
- Mentor our team members to help them achieve maximum potential
- Contribute to quality assurance review activities for areas of expertise
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years' experience, specializing in enterprise information solution architecture, design, and development
- Experience leading pre-sales activities such as leading business development presentations, writing SOWs, and closing business
- Subject matter expertise in data warehousing, specifically with Snowflake
- Experience with AWS or Azure modern data architecture technologies
- Familiarity with database-centric applications, elegantly engineered data warehouse solutions
- Data Warehousing and Data Modeling, specifically building/understanding star schema-based data marts
- Proven passion for analytics/BI and the ability to communicate its value as a strategic business advantage
- Aptitude for learning new technologies, and thought leadership
- Outstanding interpersonal skills (both in presentation and comprehension)
- Highly self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to travel 30-40%
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
