Strategic Account Manager, External Distribution
GoHealth’s VMO (Virtual Marketing Organization) serves as its external distribution channel, partnering with a wide variety of strategic distribution companies in the ecosystem to scale production across the Medicare and U65 insurance markets. The Strategic Account Manager for External Distribution will serve as the primary point of contact for several VMO or external partnership accounts, acting as an internal champion to optimize and expand the relationships. In this highly collaborative role, the Strategic Account Manager will work with operational teams to ensure accounts are set up for success, management to ensure sales KPIs are met, and GoHealth executives to capitalize on opportunities for account expansion. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively balance client needs with GoHealth business goals and find creative solutions when parties’ goals are not aligned.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact for several large VMO or external partnership accounts
- Understand key goals and business requirements of assigned accounts and effectively communicate these to GoHealth team members responsible for execution
- Own KPIs and financial performance of assigned accounts, working in close collaboration with Operations to quickly address any issues and continually improve performance
- Monitor trends in assigned accounts, recommend strategies to optimize performance, and drive these enhancements to conclusion
- Identify innovative ways to expand relationships, grow revenue, and ensure client satisfaction
- Facilitate regular strategic reviews with client
- Form deep relationships with all stakeholders at assigned accounts, from day-to-day operational contacts to executive leaders
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of experience in account management, strategy, or sales
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Extremely strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively balance competing priorities
- Proven ability to form an analysis and drive resulting recommendations through completion
- Strategic thinker who can view overall account opportunity at a macro level
- Determined problem solver who finds efficient ways to meet client needs
- Ability to flex between quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to travel 20-30% of the time
- Ability to quickly build rapport with both internal and client stakeholders
- Prior experience in the health insurance industry, specifically Medicare is a plus, but not required
