Vice President, Business Development (CPG & Shopper Marketing)
Position
The Vice President of Business Development is a critical member of our highly talented sales team reporting into the Business Development Team Leader. You will be 2 of 3 business development executives in North America with a tremendous opportunity to identify, pitch, and close prospective consumer goods and retail customers in a high-growth environment. In this role you will have the ability to sell both our enterprise SAAS virtual software as well as our research services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of C-suite sales and a deep knowledge of the retail ecosystem.

Responsibilities:
- Within your territory, prospect consumer goods and retail companies to identify and set meetings with decision makers
- Understand our client’s business challenges through strong questioning and listening and in turn be able to effectively translate these into an opportunity for our software or services
- Comfortably demonstrate our virtual store software solution to prospective clients
- Clearly present InContext’s value proposition and create a need that demands a sense of urgency
- Work cross-functionally with our product, technology and shopper insights teams to develop proposals that align with the client’s needs
- Close new business opportunities through a series of both phone/web-ex activity and individual travel to consult with our prospects in person
- Meet and exceed the set new business revenue target
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive business development experience with an enterprise solution
- A proven C-suite track record; strong listening and problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize your time in a fast-paced environment
- A deep understanding of common business challenges encountered by consumer goods manufacturers and retailers; including the roles of Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Sales and Shopper insights departments
- Must have a strong executive presence and high level of confidence
- Strong pipeline management skills; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
- Ability to use metrics in order to understand your performance as it relates back to the business
- A hungry individual with an innate sense of curiosity and entrepreneurship, along with a desire to independently solve business challenges with customized solutions
- 30-40% of travel time required
