PharmaCann, Inc. owns and operates best-in-class production facilities and retail dispensaries for cannabis-based products. We currently operate in the States of Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Michigan as a medical and/or adult use cannabis provider to patients and customers. Job Summary
The Senior Manager Safety is responsible for PharmaCann’s health and safety program for production and retail locations. The Sr Manager will be responsible for all aspects of safety for the company, including developing and implementing safety policies, conducting safety audits, investigating accidents, and training employees along with providing the necessary safety programs, systems, and procedures. Importantly, this role will be essential in creating a culture of safety across PharmaCann’s production and retail locations.

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs tailored to the cannabis industry's unique risks and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct the design and implementation of environmental, safety, and industrial health (EHS) programs that achieve and maintain compliance, and minimize the risk of injury and illness
  • Stay updated on local, state, and federal cannabis safety regulations and always ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of cannabis facilities, identifying potential hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Supervise and provide guidance and development of EH&S staff
  • Training: Identify, develop, and facilitate impactful health and safety training on various topics and oversee consistent documentation of training completion for employees.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct safety audits at production and retail locations in the Midwest geography to proactively identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigations: Complete safety investigations and job hazard analyses in response to incidents.
  • Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development and maintenance of SOPs pertaining to health and safety.
  • Compliance: Support compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
    • Maintain OSHA logs
    • Stay abreast of OSHA requirement
    • Act as site liaison for OSHA, including responding to OSHA requests and audits
    • Maintain hazardous waste disposal program
    • Maintain employee records involving health and safety
    • Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible
  • Safety Culture: Drive a culture of safety awareness across PharmaCann’s locations through continual monitoring of working conditions and engagement with employees across functions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Embodies the culture, values, and tenets of PharmaCann and full support of our purpose, goal, and key objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus seven years’ experience in health and safety or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental health and OSHA principles and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated to help build an EHS program with peers and independently oversee a geographical region.
  • Possess a high level of critical thinking, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Willingness to travel to production and retail locations across various states, including IL, OH, and MI.

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass all required background checks.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must be approved by state badging agencies as required by regulations and maintained.
  • Must remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

This is a full-time position, willing to work in different shifts and travel up to 60% of the time. Travel can be by car, train, or airplane. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, and carry up to 40 pounds. This employee will be required to use the computer. May be required to occasionally work at heights and in confined spaces.
