Senior Analyst, Sales Planning: RXBAR is one of the fastest growing natural brands in the country. This growth comes from dynamic distribution channels including e-commerce, independent specialty locations like coffee shops and fitness studios, strategic enterprise accounts like Caribou and Life Time Fitness and traditional channels like grocery, convenience, mass and club. The distribution tactics required to support a diverse supply chain generate opportunities to create strategic advantages unique to RXBAR.

The Senior Analyst of Sales Planning will work closely with and support the Sales Planning Manager, as well as partner with the RXBAR Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams, focusing on improving forecast and demand planning accuracy. Our ideal candidate has CPG experience, strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

General Functions + Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and collect key demand inputs
    • Collect inputs related to distribution expansion, merchandising and velocity across all sales channels, including Grocery, Drug, Mass, Club, and Specialty channels
    • Collaborate with Sales Account Managers and Field Managers to refine the inputs specific to each retailer
    • Develop deep knowledge of demand drivers specific to key accounts (e.g., order cadence, seasonality, promotional impacts, lead times, etc.)
  • Synthesize and evaluate the inputs for forecasting and planning purposes
    • Collaborate with Finance and the Category Insights team to establish expectations and implications for different promotional strategies
    • Translate the aggregate market inputs into estimated weekly demand by SKU
    • Incorporate baseline and promotional performance data of key retailers from Category Insights and Finance teams into the forecast
    • Manage updates to the sales forecast as part of the Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Communicate and collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing
    • Communicate forecast updates to the Financial Forecasting and Supply Chain teams during monthly Sales & Operations Planning reviews
    • Collaborate each month with Finance to determine the impact and implications to the forecast and align on demand for the next 90-days during the Sales & Operations Planning process
    • Improve forecasting accuracy alongside Finance and Supply Chain by comparing the sales forecast against actual shipments
    • Organize and maintain the business calendar, and regularly check in with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing
    • Ad hoc special projects related to forecasting, market sizing, and business planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to build out the initial forecast for new item launches
    • Collaborate with the customer-facing Sales team to document potential roadmap and retailer priority list for new product launches
    • Collaborate with Category Insights and Finance to validate and refine assumptions
    • Meet with all cross-functional teams to finalize the launch roadmap
    • Transition the launch roadmap to the Sales & Operations Planning process

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • 2-4 years of Planning or Forecasting experience at a CPG company or 2-4 years of analytical experience in Strategy Consulting
  • Comfortable building and navigating complex models with large and disparate data sets
