The Role
As the SEO Specialist, you will help build, oversee and execute SEO-related activities for GTI’s Ecommerce organization. You are an advocate for SEO best practices and opportunities. You are responsible for planning and executing the day-to-day SEO programs that we have in place and will help the SEO team create new programs to increase organic traffic to the RISE website and other retail brand websites, grow all Google My Business listings, execute on outreach and backlink solicitation, and work alongside our web merchandising team by contributing to the content strategy for the website with an SEO mindset. The overall goal of this position is to help build the SEO programs for the Rise website and execute tactics to support the SEO strategy to help drive more organic traffic and revenue.
This role will reside on the Ecom team as part of the Revenue Organization, and report to the SEO Manager. You will be collaborating with internal brand marketing teams, internal data analysts, content strategy partners, digital partners/web developers, and creative teams to help identify and capitalize on opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Tactical execution of GTI’s overarching SEO strategy, in accordance with our Ecommerce vision
- Help identify SEO opportunities across paid, owned, and earned channels
- Proactively provide regular updates on SEO project statuses
- Stay up-to-date on all SEO industry news and trends and proactively research new SEO opportunities based on the ever-changing SEO landscape.
- Collaboratively work with other internal teams (web merchandising, paid media) to help implement channel specific SEO strategy through tactical updates
- Utilize SEO programs to help identify various opportunities across content and technical SEO
- Topic research using existing client data and 3rd Party data (Search Console, AdWords Query Reports, SEMRush, Moz, Google Keyword Planner, STAT, Answer the Public, Google Trends, etc)
- Update weekly reporting status for the SEO team to share with the larger Ecommerce team
- Regularly check SEO reporting tools and provide feedback and recommendations when applicable
- Support the SEO Manager in researching and creating backlinking opportunities
- Help execute day to day tasks of SEO campaigns including keyword research and mapping, and on-page optimization recommendations
- Support new website launches
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Content + SEO settings migration
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an SEO practitioner with a track record of success
- Knowledge of the cannabis space is a plus
- Corporate background working for or with large business entities with a nation-wide presence, both agencies and in-house within a brand
- Experience in retail environments; the ability to understand overarching retail brand tenets alongside the importance hyper-local strategies
- Experience with website migrations to new domains or site rebuilds/redirects
- Must be willing to play a supportive role in the optimization of similar verticals, such as social media optimization (SMO), conversion rate optimization (CRO), reporting and analytics
- Must be able to work and be trusted in an unsupervised manner; comfortable in high paced environment; self-starter who is able to initiate what needs to be done before being asked
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
