The Video Security & Access Control group at Motorola Solutions designs, develops, and manufactures video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. Avigilon's solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.
Job Description

The A&E Sales Engineer role is focused on supporting key A&E firms and the A&E Business Development Team. Part of this role is to manage, create, and improve A&E tools and design assets. The Sales Engineer will also build ongoing technical relationships with targeted A&E firms and serve as their best advocate for MSI solutions in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide design consultation/support for Security Consultants, including 

    • System design of Access Control

    • System design of Video Management and Cameras

    • Providing A&E Design resources on a per-project basis to security consultants

  • Creating and maintaining A&E design assets including Risers, Typicals, Architecture Diagrams, Specification Language and more. 

  • Manage, Update, and collaborate with the A&E Business development team regarding the quality of current A&E Tools and resources. 

  • Performing demo’s and presentations on Motorola Soltuions products. 

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Avigilon (Video and Access Control) and Pelco Camera Solutions, and how they fit into larger MSI Ecosystem.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a sales engineering or pre-sales design role for video/access control products

  • Strong knowledge or experience utilizing MSI Video Security & Access Control products is highly desirable.

  • Deep Understanding of Construction Design Process and Design Deliverable stages.

  • Ability to mark up floor plans and PDF’s using Bluebeam Revu

  • Ability to do basic navigation of projects in REVIT 2022+

  • Ability to captivate a meeting by delivering world-class product demonstrations and compelling sales or technical presentations to both C-Level and front-line decision-makers

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Possesses strong problem-solving / troubleshooting skills with strong knowledge of IP networking architecture and cybersecurity best practices.

  • Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and basic mechanical assembly skills for equipment demos 

  • Ability to reliably travel throughout the assigned territory, sometimes with minimal notice.

Travel Requirements

  • The Sales Engineer shall have the responsibility to cover the United States. 

  • 70%+ travel primarily within your assigned territory. Limited occasional travel internationally may be required

  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following: Sales, Engineering, Video or Solutions Architecture
