RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Development Team Lead is responsible for:
- Leading a team of business development managers to establish, develop and maintain business relationships with prospective clients in various professional services verticals to generate new business for One North’s services.
- Establishing, developing and maintaining one’s own prospective client relationships in various professional services verticals.
- Leading the proposal and RFP process internally in order to respond to prospective client requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Coordinating across the practices at One North to develop solutions for prospective clients as part of the proposal process.
- Tracking, developing and maintaining a quality pipeline of opportunities.
- Leading weekly pipeline review calls with broader One North cross functional team.
- Managing new employee orientation; onboarding and continual training of sales team.
- Assisting with development of new sales processes to generate and nurture leads in conjunction with the Marketing team and the Director of Business Development.
- Providing immediate feedback to sales team when needed, and partnering with the Director of Business Development to develop and identify opportunity areas for coaching.
- Attending industry events and conferences to generate awareness of One North and create/maintain new business relationships.
- Keeping the Director of Business Development informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least 5 to 7 years of experience selling consulting services and/or selling digital marketing, strategy and creative services (agency experience is preferred).
- Proven ability to manage the operations and growth of a sales team.
- Should have in depth knowledge of prospecting & selling strategies, development of proposals and working in a team environment.
- Strong business analysis, solution crafting, interaction management and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to exceed sales quotas and pitch new business work.
- Ability to leverage strong written and verbal communication to generate interest with an executive audience via email, phone, webinars, content marketing and general sales activity.
- Comfortable matching our dynamic capabilities with the prospective client’s needs.
- 75% of the work will be over the phone and E-mail, but willingness to travel is a plus.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in order to liaise between the user community, executive sponsors and the One North team.
