We
are looking for an experienced consultant or account manager who is ready for a
career pivot and is motivated by the opportunity to grow and scale a business
development function. This role will require someone with high emotional
intelligence, strong relationship building skills and a passion for the hunt. The
Director, Business Development (BD) will be expected to learn our story and contribute
to new business opportunities. After establishing a thorough understanding of
our markets, services, value-add, etc., the role will transition to owning the
business development of existing key verticals and managing the sales pipeline
from start to finish.  This role will
report to the Managing Director, Business Development.

Responsibilities



Manage
New Business Opportunities

  • Quarterback the strategy with the
    Managing Director, Business Development
  • Own client communication for new business
    development efforts from initial call to close/transition
  • Work closely with Creative, Strategy, Brand,
    Technology and Account to create proposals and pitches
  • With Marketing’s support, represent One North
    at key industry events and strategically build our brand awareness
  • Maintain consultative relationships
    with potential clients outside of an immediate sales opportunity
    (relationship-based-selling)
  • Track, develop and maintain a quality
    pipeline of opportunities
  • Prepare for and lead weekly pipeline
    call with broader One North cross-functional team
  • Work closely with Sitecore and other partners as
    necessary to develop new business


Manage
Outbound Team



  • Lead and manage the outsourced lead generation
    team, including the metrics, campaigns and traffic flow
  • Report regularly on status of outbound
    team activity and territory analysis to Managing Director, Business Development
  • Hire and manage new business development team
    members


 Qualifications



  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience selling professional services,
    preferably in an agency setting
  • Comfort presenting to large groups
  • Deep experience developing sales strategy, proposals
    and pitches
  • Highly collaborative with demonstrated
    experience working across a matrixed organization
  • Experience managing people or a team
  • Consultative, value-added sales style (i.e.
    develop relationships based on value)
  • Marketing-oriented thinker (i.e. someone that
    can put themselves in the shoes of our CMO clients)
  • Intellectually curious and interested in
    digital marketing

Location

Our office is located downtown Chicago at the corner of Franklin & Monroe streets. However, we're currently working together remotely.
