Director of Human Resources
We’re looking for a motivated and talented Director of Human Resources who is a self-starter and true people person! You will work closely with our CEO and will be an integral part of our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to put your stamp on all things HR-related and build it from the ground up. You will have ownership over company HR strategy, excellent policies, and choosing and implementing benefits that will help us recruit and retain the best people.
The ideal candidate has experience, vision, drive, and is excited to be part of an innovative and fast-paced company. This person must be a self-starter who is extremely result and detail-oriented, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and motivation for supporting our team and helping us grow.
General Functions + Responsibilities:
- Strategy - Develop strategies by identifying and researching HR issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to company strategic thinking and direction
- Implementation - Implement human resources strategies including talent acquisition, employee on-boarding, compensation, benefits, record keeping, succession planning, employee retention, AA/EEO compliance, and employee conflict resolution)
- System Design – Design and implement annual performance review plan and other beneficial company processes
- Payroll Administration- Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely; implement payroll system improvements as needed
- Benefits - Oversee benefit administration and selection, including open enrollment and review of monthly payments to benefit providers
- Perks - Work with and manage vendors to implement new benefit & perks as needed
- Recruitment + Talent Acquisition - Support talent acquisition efforts, create/update job descriptions and scorecards, conduct phone screens/interviews
- Onboarding New Hires - Assist with onboarding and integrating new hires to the Company; create onboarding & training documents
- Development + Performance Evaluations - Support training & development initiatives, assist with creating content, organizing training sessions; create and implement performance evaluation tools for the company
- Culture - Support and promote company culture
- Compliance – Create and update policies; ensure our company is operating in compliance with internal policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations related to employment and employee safety
- Employee Relations - Assist with resolution of employee issues
- Record Keeping - Maintain all employee records, including status changes, and new hire and termination paperwork; personnel file maintenance and filing
- Confidentiality - Managing sensitive and confidential matters and protecting the security of information, data and files
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- Payroll and benefit administration experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Able to balance multiple priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality
- Adaptable + resourceful
- Detail-oriented + excellent time management without a great deal of oversight
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite & Mac OS
- Ability to exercises excellent judgment and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Possesses an excellent sense of humor and is a genuine “people person”
