The Manager of Human Resources provides guidance in the management of U.S. human resources activities, such as strategic HR support for the business leaders, talent management, talent acquisition, organizational development, employee relations, compensation and related areas. The sits in our Chicago office and supports employees across the US.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic and generalist human resources support to the US offices: Chicago and San Francisco
  • Develops and administer various human resources plans and procedures
  • Develops, recommends, and implements HR policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook on policies and procedures
  • Manages an HR Specialist; partnering to ensure there is transparency as to the status of open positions and any benefit issues
  • Partners with Controller when reviewing annual benefit increases and/or changes
  • Stays abreast of new state and federal laws concerning employee relations and company policies
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program, files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Works directly with management on employee relations issues, including coaching, succession planning and progressive discipline
  • Maintains HRIS information in payroll system; back-up to Controller to process payroll
  • Works closely with German HR team to create and roll out Global HR initiatives relating to the Company’s Culture of Empowerment and Strategy
Your Qualifications and Skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in human resources; 3+ years managerial experience
  • Technology company experience a plus; global experience highly desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of staff and personalities
  • Preference for working in a collaborative, cross-team, cross-cultural capacity
  • Ability and willingness to European travel up to 10% – particularly to our company headquarters in Cologne, Germany
