Manager of Sales Development
Sprout Social builds world-class social media management software used by over 17,000 brands like Microsoft, Zipcar, Hyatt, Google, and Zendesk. Our Sales group engages with current and prospective customers. Our team works with businesses of all sizes and types to help them more effectively engage with their followers on multiple social channels.
Sprout Social is looking for an experienced B2B Sales Development manager with experience in building teams that are responsible for both building new sales pipelines and lead generation. This person must demonstrate past successes in sales leadership, have hired and developed sales people, have experience with software sales, and is very operational and sales-process focused.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and lead a successful inside sales team responsible for developing new sales opportunities for a world-class software product in high demand
- Develop and manage prospecting strategies and processes to target high-potential customers for Sprout
- Run a technology-enabled sales development organization (work smart by being data driven)
- Deliver significant, consistent pipeline contribution
- Work closely with peers in sales and marketing to develop world-class sales development strategy and process
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales management role - software sales development experience is desirable
- Consistent track record of exceeding goals
- Ability to build and manage a successful sales team while implementing rigorous, measurable, and repeatable processes
- High energy, positive, inspirational, and results driven
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills – both verbal and written
- Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to deal with change and be a team player
