 The Role:

We are looking for an experienced data analyst to join our cross-functional fraud-fighting efforts. This role specializes in identifying fraud patterns, working on advanced automated prevention mechanisms, creating and tracking fraud metrics as well as recommending and implementing insightful, accurate and data-driven policies and review methodologies that keep us safe. This individual will need to intersect between multiple teams and work closely with the Fraud Team Manager.  

Responsibilities:

  • Design and write automated rules to prevent fraud and platform abuse; test and track rule performance
  • Identify incidents and patterns of abuse using various techniques and data analysis tools
  • Communicate complex concepts and the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of fraud policies
  • Research and leverage fraud domain knowledge to contribute to models, rules and other detection systems
  • Analyze data covering a wide range of information from customer profile to transaction history
  • Collaborate with analysts, operations, and engineering to develop innovative solutions and implement advanced modeling techniques
  • Maintain and improve fraud metrics while tracking, analyzing and communicating these metrics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with preferred major in computer science, statistics, engineering or mathematics
  • 3+ years of analytics experience
  • Master of SQL and Excel
  • Experience with fraud prevention models preferred
  • Proficiency and history of use with a data analysis or scripting language: Python, R, Matlab, etc.
  • Data modeling experience; including linear regression, modeling and use of data visualization tools (e.g. Spotfire)
  • Experience with Accertify or similar tool is a MUST
  • Familiarity with Internet technologies and protocols
  • Ability to work well in a collaborate environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
