We are hiring a Strategic Analyst at SMS Assist!

As a Strategic Analyst you will drive operational success through reporting, data analytics, and insight. The tasks you will be assigned with will vary daily – from tracking the weather, pulling data for invoices and assisting with service reports. As a Strategic Analyst you will work with excel and similar programs to analyze data and report back to the team based on your findings. As you learn and grow our goal is to turn the Strategic Analyst into a big picture strategy position where you are able to give recommendations for the business based on the data you have uncovered.

To qualify for the Strategic Analyst role, you have to be a highly-motivated, enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual. The Strategic Analyst role is a good fit as an entry-level position for someone fresh out of college or for someone new in their career.

Core Responsibilities of the Strategic Analyst

• Provide data analytics on account and division performance
• Run and analyze reports in our proprietary database to help our operations department make decisions regarding our clients/affiliates
• Survey clients on pricing and set up pricing models based on city, state, etc.  
• Serve as the point person between operations and our clients/affiliates to ensure all parties have the data and information they need for a productive relationship
• Provide accurate and timely reporting to all necessary parties
• Logistical planning based on current and future growth
• Develop innovative process designs for our work flow
• Will be responsible for finding trends in our business process and developing best practice strategies in order to make improvements

Key Competencies of the Strategic Analyst

• Very strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Ability to quickly see trends in data 
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced)
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Flexibility, adaptability and ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to “think out of the box” is a must
• Experience in VBA, Macro, SQL, and Python are preferred 

• Ability to develop relationships with internal and external clients 
• Resourceful
• Undergraduate degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics preferred) 
• 0 – 3 years of work/analytical experience
• Will consider recent entry-level college graduates with internship and/or analytical experience
