    The Business Analyst provides project leadership, management and oversight throughout the phases of Echo’s solution/software delivery life cycle (SDLC). Projects will vary depending on size and scope and will entail fully integrated process, organizational, and information technology components. This position requires day-to-day management of project team personnel, communication with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, and hands-on, experience-based delivery leadership. This role will also require direct interaction with a broad range of senior, technical and functional managers and subject matter experts throughout the organization. The Business Analyst participates in building new integrations or enhancing existing integrations utilizing on Echo’s proprietary Enterprise systems and packaged applications.

    General Responsibilities                                                                                      

    • Conduct fact finding sessions with key business and IT staff to assess as-is capabilities, perform root cause analyses, define solution requirements, perform feasibility analyses, and define high-level solution alternatives and approaches
    • Prepare project proposals, business cases, and detailed project plans
    • Provide hands-on project management and actively manage the project plan, deliverables, dependencies, and outcomes for all aspects of the project (including business process, organization, and IT solution components) across all phases of the SDLC.
    • Actively monitor, manage, and communicate key project control dimensions including scope, time, cost, resources, risk, dependencies, procurement, and quality across all phases of the SDLC.
    • Develop and implement change management and communications plans to ensure solution adoption pre-, during-, and post-implementation
    • Ensure the quality and timeliness of all project deliverables
    • Work with executive and senior management to improve overall project delivery and support processes
    • Develop, monitor, and manage project metrics, in particular, metrics associated with benefit capture and overall adoption
    • Develops deep expertise of Echo’s internal and client-facing technology product lines and document complex software functionality
    • Understands Echo’s business processes and goals across different domains and transportation modes
    • Participates in product discovery phase by helping Product Manager to facilitate requirements gathering/refinement sessions with end-users, subject-matter experts, Echo executives
    • Takes on the Product Owner role to work with the Integrations Mapping Team, Integrations Analysts, and Agile Software Development Team to lead them to building the right solution
    • Participates in product release cycles as the product expert, including user acceptance testing sessions, to help surface any issues prior to a release
    • Helps Echo’s integrations and application support teams in troubleshooting production issues and escalating issues to the appropriate delivery team as needed; manages end-user expectations appropriately
    • Performs analytical studies, research and side projects, as required

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • Business Analyst or equivalent work experience in the transportation/logistics/supply chain field preferred
    • Project Manager and/or Agile experience preferred
    • Exposure to the full SDLC an Agile or traditional Waterfall environment
    • Must have some experience managing people or leading teams, either directly or indirectly
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, fluid work environment
    • Self-managed and motivated
    • Ability to follow through with tasks to their completion
    • Very organized and detail-oriented
    • Ability to ride a fast learning curve
    • Readiness to learn new technologies, MS SQL and analytical tools
    • Strong and proven skills in creating quality documents such as user stories/acceptance criteria, business requirements/use cases, process flows, product backlogs
    • Good analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business and market problems and apply technology and domain knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
    • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Visio (charts, reports, data analysis, and flowcharting)
    • Basic understanding of database concepts, including design, optimization, and SQL query language a plus
