Meet Upside:

We created Upside to help communities thrive! Our retail technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick and mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cash back than any other product, and tens of thousands of brick and mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our local retailers, the consumers they serve, and towards important sustainability initiatives. Our mission, values, and commitment to inclusivity guide our team of more than 200 people worldwide, and the quality of our culture is reflected in the impact we’ve had on communities nationwide.

About the job:

Our Talent Acquisition team is growing alongside the rest of the company, and we’re looking for an experienced leader to join us in early 2022. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-funded and rapidly-scaling company as we poise ourselves to 10x over the next few years, which includes international expansion. This data-driven leader will oversee all recruitment processes and practices, from sourcing to hiring, managing a team of recruiters, identifying high-potential candidates, and driving effectiveness and accountability. Most importantly, this role will strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion into our talent management.

What you'll do:

  • Champion our diversity & inclusion initiatives throughout the hiring process -- including the content of job descriptions, sourcing strategies, and the creation of inclusive interview processes -- that lead to measurable improvement in the availability and selection of underrepresented candidates for our roles.
  • Demonstrate a results-oriented and a bias towards action. You'll collaborate closely with our People leadership team to ensure that together we identify, engage, and hire within time, scope, and budget, while always aligning to our core values.
  • Have a data driven attitude. You’ll have a data-driven mentality to generate metrics to evaluate effectiveness, return on investment and inclusivity of programs, and identify insights that will drive continuous improvement. You’ll perform data analysis using advanced excel skills and other applications to see our impact on the organization.
  • Develop and grow positive relationships. You’ll collaborate with People Business Partners and business leaders to measure impact and start to assess and predict future hiring needs.
  • Use your industry knowledge. You'll develop global brand and attraction strategies that can be deployed across hundreds of universities, conferences, networks, and programs worldwide.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for your own req load (as needed). You'll own full lifecycle senior (VP/SVP/C-Suite) leadership searches as needed.

What you need:

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on, full-cycle recruiting experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. Previous tech company experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing a Recruiting team, where teammates' seniority ranged from entry-level to Senior
  • Experience using an ATS with sophisticated reporting capabilities (we use Greenhouse) and LinkedIn Recruiter, as well as a proficiency working in a Mac environment, using GSuite products and Slack.
  • Strong analytical skills. Aptitude for and interest in managing/evaluating large sets of data and using data to generate insights.
  • An excitement about using innovative recruiting trends and practices to continually refine and improve the recruiting process and candidate experience.
  • An ability to communicate, interact, influence, and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including C-Suite.
  • Ability to lead in a complex, fast-paced organization with resiliency for ambiguity and change to deliver the highest quality outcomes.
  • Flexibility to travel to Upside's Washington, D.C. headquarters at least once/quarter for team building and planning purposes.
