Overview
This position is NOT REMOTE and will involve coming into our corporate office once or twice a week.
We are located at: 433 W Van Buren Street, 7th Floor, Chicago, IL 60607
We are seeking a Product Insights Analyst for our Product Insights team at Home Chef. The Insights team sits within the Technology Product department, and strives to provide the best customer experience by continuously embedding insights work into our digital and physical products.
The ideal candidate has a multidisciplinary skillset as well as a demonstrated desire to understand and represent the customer. This role will be responsible for conducting primary research and data analysis, as well as supporting our Voice of the Customer and Experimentation programs. This person should be creative, collaborative, data-driven, incredibly resourceful, and laser-focused on delivering value to our customers.
Must have the ability to wear multiple hats, be comfortable with ambiguity and juggle multiple priorities. This person will be a strong collaborator with a broad range of stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Design, Supply Chain, Culinary, NPD etc.) to design and deliver an excellent customer experience. Their focus should be on always driving an impact by injecting actionable and tangible insights into all parts of the product development and management processes.
Responsibilities
Set up and execute primary research projects

  • Work with relevant cross-functional stakeholders to make sure projects reflect all relevant perspectives
  • Translate business questions into the right survey / user test / interview questions
  • Work with Insights, CX Product, Marketing, NPD (New Product Development) and Design to set up, QA and launch surveys and user tests
    • Set up internal surveys to better understand our customers and how they feel about our existing / potential new products
    • Set up external surveys to understand product preferences among retail / grocery customers and prospective e-commerce customers
    • Set up user tests to help validate hypotheses and inform the direction of new user features / experiments
  • Own all logistics associated with setting up customer interviews / focus groups / user tests / surveys


Generate and share actionable insights

  • Download, aggregate and clean up data from research projects
    • Identify other potential data cuts / interesting insights from survey data
    • Identify and aggregate trends from qualitative user tests / customer interviews
  • Build compelling, fact-based research recaps that strongly communicate the business 'story' behind the data, provide actionable recommendations, and further a culture of data-driven decision making
  • Share / present research recaps with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain our Product Insights Pipeline and Google Drive to facilitate knowledge sharing and record keeping


Develop behavioral and competitive insights

  • Conduct proactive data analysis that helps us better understand our customers' behaviors and attitudes
    • Leverage our CX Toolkit to find patterns, opportunities for improvement and pain points
      • E.g., Looker, GA Analytics, Amplitude
  • Help deepen understanding of our users' engagement with existing website / app features, and their impact on retention, AOV and other KPIs
  • Stay apprised of the meal kit competitive landscape and other Direct-to-Consumer subscription trends using our DoWhatWorks platform and leading competitor website teardowns


Support our Voice of the Customer and Experimentation programs

  • Support our efforts to consolidate, clean and simplify our multiple sources of customer feedback
    • E.g., analyze trends among customer feedback / verbatims, look into potential AI tools
  • Support our A/B testing / experimentation velocity by owning certain experiments and pairing with relevant stakeholders to launch those tests internally or via our 3rd party partnership (Cro Metrics / Optimizely)


Qualifications

  • Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field
  • 1+ years work experience in a fast paced, data-driven role
  • Strong interest in / some experience with customer data / behaviors
  • Understanding of project management techniques
  • Strong analytical web and business analysis skills
  • Ability to interpret data and synthesize key takeaways / recommendations
  • Strong sense of ownership and execution
  • At least six months of experience using project management tracking tools
  • Exposure to programming (HTML, CSS, JS, SQL), experimentation tools / reporting and analytics platforms (Looker, GA) preferred


Salary range: $73200 - $107900
