Retail company Ahold Delhaize USA is advancing its checkout and store software systems across its supermarket network. The company selected the NCR Voyix Commerce Platform to update four primary store areas: self-checkout systems, point-of-sale registers, pharmacy services and retail fuel counters.

“As we advance our technology strategy, we’re focused on making it easier for customers to shop with our brands and easier for our brands’ associates to serve their customers,” Ann Dozier, Ahold Delhaize USA’s CIO, said in a statement. “Our goal is to create a more consistent technology foundation and a more connected experience, while maintaining the flexibility that allows each of our local brands to meet its customers’ needs in the short term and positions us for the future.”

The initiative is expected to streamline technology across brands such as Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company and Stop & Shop. The company has already installed its first updated point-of-sale units in 100 stores, with the rollout set to continue over the next several years.
