Headquartered in Austin, Arrive Logistics launched its Chicago office in 2016, less than two years after its founding, quickly growing its local team to 117 employees.

The logistics company, which provides digital solutions to freight shippers and receivers, closed a Series A in June of more than $10M and is gearing up to hit a Chicago headcount of 200 by the end of the year.

According to Vice President of Recruiting Kari Wainwright, the majority of the startup’s new Chicago hires will be in sales positions.

The third-party logistics industry is really well known in the Midwest.”

“The third-party logistics industry is really well known in the Midwest, and in Chicago especially,” said Wainwright. “So we kind of have a built in knowledge base of the industry when people come right out of college. They know the lay of the land and typically have had an interest in the industry well before graduation.”

The company welcomes entry-level candidates, so long as they embrace the startup’s core mantra.

“No matter what role you’re in at Arrive in Chicago, you have to be [ready to] LFG,” said Wainwright. “It stands for ‘let’s effing go.’ Someone who’s career-oriented, goal-oriented and open to learning a new industry with that kind LFG attitude to do whatever it takes to get the job done, will always be candidate that we’re excited about.”

Arrive’s Chicago office is looking into leasing more space to house its new staff. Although the Midwestern unit is being built out extensively, it still works in tandem with the Austin base.

“We’re definitely one unit. We work really hard to make sure the culture, mentality and execution are all parallel,” said Wainwright. “It’s one mission and one team.”
