Outcome Health names one of its own COO

On Tuesday, Outcome Health named Vivek Kundra COO. Kundra joined the company back in January as executive vice president of provider solutions. Before that, he was an EVP at Salesforce and served as the first CIO of the United States under President Obama. As COO, Kundra will lead Outcome Health’s revenue, product and operations efforts, in addition to continuing his work in provider solutions. [Press Release]

 

PhysIQ raises $8M to fund new health monitoring platform

PhysIQ announced an $8 million Series B funding round Tuesday. The money will go toward the launch of a new product, VitaLink. The IoT device is powered by artificial intelligence and enables care providers to monitor patients from afar. Serial entrepreneur Shawn Carpenter launches his latest venture

Shawn Carpenter officially launched his latest venture this week, a sales intelligence platform called RepIQ. The platform’s company database features information on everything from total employees to technologies used, with artificial intelligence used to craft targeted leads. Carpenter is developing RepIQ with co-founder Jonathan Suchland, a former Amazon software development manager. [Built In Chicago]

 

Team Rocket strikes again

The first-ever Pokemon Go Fest, hosted on Saturday in Chicago's Grant Park, featured thousands of gamers, legendary Pokemon and a bunch of technical problems. Many players were unable to launch the game due to overloaded cell networks. Those who could play suffered through crashes caused by server issues. Monument Labs lands $1.4 million seed round

Monument Labs, creators of an AI-powered cloud device that stores and sorts photos, announced a seed round of $1.4 million on Tuesday. The round was led by Turkey’s ACT Venture Partners and saw participation from Bluestein Associates, Istanbul Technical University ARI Teknokent and Turkish serial investor Sinan Guler. To date, Monument Labs has raised $1.8 million from investors and $900,000 from Kickstarter.

 

Livongo joins forces with the American Heart Association

Livongo has joined the American Heart Association’s Center for Health Technology and Innovation Health Tech Collaborative. The partnership is designed to advance the company’s health education content, specifically its info on high blood pressure. Livongo’s meter, mobile app and live coaches help diabetes sufferers, 71 percent of whom also have high blood pressure, manage their conditions. [Press release]

 

Target Data adds VP of analytics

Target Data announced Dave Cameron's appointment as VP of analytics on Tuesday. Cameron has 20 years of experience in marketing science and has held previous leadership positions at Nielsen, Merkle and Ameritech. Cameron was VP of data science at Nielsen before joining Target Data. In his new role, he’ll head up the company’s analytics and insights teams. [PR Newswire]

 

NuCurrent appoints new VP of operations

Wireless power antenna company NuCurrent has brought on Jim Ticknor to serve as its new vice president of operations. Ticknor has over 25 years of experience in operations and supply chain management. He was formerly the VP of operations at UICO and VP of worldwide operations and supply chain at 3Com Corporation. Ticknor will oversee NuCurrent’s manufacturing, supply chain and customer satisfaction.

 

DialogTech launches Dashboard Insights

On Wednesday DialogTech launched Dashboard Insights, a new way for marketers to monitor and measure the impact of phone calls. Users can create customizable, graphical reports to track trends and measure performance. Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Bing, Facebook and Twitter accounts can also be connected to Dashboard Insights to paint a complete picture of marketing efforts. [Press release]

 

Tiz expands integrations with alcohol distributors

On Thursday, Tiz revealed that its online alcohol ordering system would offer direct integration with five major Midwest alcohol distributors. Previously, bars and restaurants would order from the platform, with distributors manually entering orders into the backend. The new integration bypasses this step entirely. It also allows distributors with Tiz integration to offer real-time promotions and specials to bars and restaurants.
