Code Academy is an immersive three-month program for passionate people who want to learn how to build web applications. We offer world-class instruction in web development and web design, and provide hands-on mentorship from Chicago's leading developers, designers, and entrepreneurs. In less than a year, Code Academy has bootstrapped its way to over $1M in revenue.Over 170 students have completed Code Academy in less than 9 months, from over 20 states and 8 countries around the world. We're now averaging 80 students a quarter spread across 4 different course offerings and are on pace to teach 300+ beginners web design and development this year alone. Today we have alumni working as apprentices and entry-level developers with companies such as Groupon, Enova, 8th Light, DevMynd, Braintree, Kohactive, Doejo, and Trunk Club to name a few. Many Code Academy alumni are also joining and launching startups (most of which are Chicago-based) such as Eveningflow, SchoolSparrow, StyleSeek, Furnishly, Obaz, LeaseMaid, and SimpleRelevance.
Dabble is a community marketplace for people to teach, discover and host unique and affordable classes online. Whether the class is an intro to Spanish, fixing up a bike or perfecting a business skill, Dabble is the easiest way for people to try something new. For teachers, Dabble allows everyday experts to share their passions with the world (while making a few bucks on the side). By facilitating ticket sales and financial transactions, Dabble makes the process of listing a class effortless and efficient. Classes are currently available in Chicago only, but Dabble plans to expand to other cities soon.
MyServista is the easy way to comparison shop and buy local services. It has prices and social recommendations for 1000s of services at nearby businesses making it super simple to find great value auto repair, gyms, child care and other services in your neighborhood.
Uncorkd is a digital wine and beverage menu platform for the restaurant industry. We enable restaurants to quickly and affordably manage interactive iPad menus that educate diners, provide pairing recommendations and take the guesswork out of choosing the right wine or beverage with their meal. Restaurants can now update their wine list in real-time, learn about customer preferences, and significantly increase sales.
