Design and ship customer-facing APIs exposing AI model capabilities, scale inference infrastructure, and productionize research techniques for reliable, low-latency production traffic. Collaborate with researchers, applied engineers, and customers to improve products and research direction. Contribute across backend services, inference infrastructure, SDKs, and internal tooling.

Own the visual and interaction design of AssemblyAI’s core product surfaces, including the Playground and dashboard, and build them in production React and TypeScript. Establish UX quality, interaction states, motion, hierarchy, design systems, and visual language. Translate rough ideas into polished experiences through rapid prototyping, partner with engineering, marketing, and sales, and use AI-assisted tools to design and ship AI-native interfaces.

Build and scale production inference systems and customer-facing APIs for AssemblyAI’s voice AI models. Responsibilities include productionizing research prototypes, improving latency and reliability, supporting high-volume inference traffic, developing backend services and SDKs, and collaborating with researchers, applied engineers, customers, and product teams.

Design and build developer-facing product surfaces end-to-end: create high-fidelity UX and visual designs, prototype quickly, implement production interfaces in React and TypeScript, steward the design system, and collaborate cross-functionally to ship polished, AI-native experiences.
