Chicago Park District Benefits Overview

Supervises recreation programming and staff at a Chicago Park District playground or park facility. Responsibilities include coordinating athletic and leisure activities, managing facility safety and maintenance, maintaining records and inventory, scheduling community facility use, recruiting and training volunteers, publicizing programs, processing work orders, and working with community groups to identify recreational needs.

Supervises park recreation staff and programs, including athletic activities, cultural and leisure classes, camps, leagues, tournaments, and community facility use. Plans schedules, allocates staff, maintains equipment and records, coordinates maintenance and safety, promotes programs, recruits volunteers, and works with community groups to improve recreation services.

Supervises greenhouse, conservatory, nursery, and outdoor horticultural operations. Propagates, cultivates, transplants, waters, and maintains plants, shrubs, and trees; oversees pest and fungus treatment; manages greenhouse conditions; maintains floral displays; operates horticultural equipment; and instructs subordinate staff.
