Staff Accountant supporting the Global Forwarding segment’s month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes; reconciliations; cash, payroll, and expense accounting; financial analysis; audits; budgeting; forecasting; and internal controls. The role partners with operations, sales, and leadership teams, supports acquisitions and process improvements, and develops financial reporting tools. This onsite position requires full-cycle accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and occasional travel.

Leads corporate accounting, month-end close, multi-entity consolidation, GAAP-compliant reporting, audits, accounting policies, and finance systems administration. Oversees Workday Adaptive and SAP Concur, supports integrations and process automation, and partners on budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax compliance, and M&A integration. Manages and mentors an accounting team while preparing executive and board materials. Requires an active CPA, substantial progressive accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and significant travel during implementation projects.

Process vendor invoices, manage weekly payments, verify approvals and coding, reconcile statements, investigate discrepancies, monitor AP aging, maintain records, respond to vendor inquiries, and support month-end accounting activities. The role requires accuracy, organization, communication, and proficiency with Excel in a collaborative, high-volume environment.

Lead all accounting and finance functions for the Global Forwarding segment, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, AP, payroll, controls, audits, and month-end close. Oversee acquisition integration, profitability and working-capital analysis, compliance with GAAP, and process improvements. Manage and develop the accounting team while partnering with executive leadership, operations, sales, vendors, and technology teams to support strategic decisions and business growth.

Processes vendor invoices, weekly payments, approvals, coding, and payment terms. Reconciles vendor statements, investigates discrepancies, monitors aging reports, maintains AP records, responds to inquiries, and supports month-end accounting activities. Requires strong organization, accuracy, communication, Excel proficiency, and 1–3 years of relevant experience. The role is fully onsite in Barrington, Illinois.
