Recruiters may also support aircraft, supply chain, and operations hiring. The role requires strong manufacturing knowledge, high-growth hardware recruiting experience, and the ability to hire both hourly and leadership talent.

Own full-cycle recruiting for mission, defense business development, business operations, finance, real estate, and marketing roles. Lead senior and first-of-kind searches, advise hiring managers, build talent pipelines, recruit defense and national security professionals, and close high-impact candidates. The role requires strong market knowledge, executive search capability, and credibility across defense, government, and startup environments.

Own top-of-funnel sourcing for software engineering roles, including backend, frontend, autonomy, and forward-deployed positions. Within the first year, expand into sourcing aircraft talent across propulsion, structures, avionics, manufacturing, and production. Responsibilities include researching candidates on GitHub, writing personalized outreach, building effective searches, managing requisitions, maintaining accurate recruiting data, and partnering directly with hiring managers in a fast-paced defense technology startup.

Develop on-vehicle and simulation software across the autonomy stack: planning behaviors, sensor and payload integration, embedded/vehicle platforms, realistic UxS simulation, and electronics prototyping. Ensure reliable, testable code and support onsite test/integration events (up to 25% travel).

Define and own autonomy architecture for large-scale UAV swarms: design perception, planning, control, and inter-robot/C2 protocols; make system tradeoffs; mentor engineers; write production-quality code; support test events (up to 25% travel).

Lead and own Legion's software roadmap, architecture, and delivery across autonomy, mission/C2, full-stack and field-deployed engineering. Build and scale the software organization, define technical standards for real-time and multi-agent systems, drive engineering execution, recruit talent, establish field feedback loops, interface with customers and investors, and adopt frontier AI tools to improve system performance and reliability.
