Transparent Energy is redefining how organizations buy energy through a proprietary auction platform that has facilitated over $5B+ in transactions and generated $375M+ in client savings.
We are hiring an Account Executive to the Managing Partner — a unique, high-exposure role for someone who wants to level up quickly, operate at the center of major deals, and gain direct access to executive-level decision making.
This is not a traditional business development role.
You will work side-by-side with the founder & owner, supporting business development, deal origination, and strategic partnerships while helping execute on some of the largest energy transactions in the country.

The Opportunity
This role sits at the intersection of:
  • Business Development
  • Account Management
  • Executive Support
You will act as a force multiplier for the Managing Partner — helping drive pipeline, coordinate deals, and execute on high-priority strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development & Deal Support
    • Support the Managing Partner in origination and development of new business opportunities
    • Conduct research and outreach related to target accounts, partnerships, and market opportunities
    • Prepare for and participate in high-level client meetings and pitches
    • Help drive deals forward across the full lifecycle — from introduction through execution
    • Coordinate with internal teams to support live transactions and auction processes
  2. Strategic Partnership Execution
  • Assist in developing and managing enterprise-level partnerships
  • Interface with senior stakeholders (often C-level) across client organizations
  • Track and manage key partnership initiatives and follow-ups
  1. Executive Support (Commercial-Focused)
    • Manage and prioritize the Managing Partner’s deal-related workflow and communications
    • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and strategic summaries
    • Ensure seamless execution across multiple concurrent deals and priorities
  2. Account & Relationship Management
    • Support ongoing relationships with key clients and partners
    • Identify opportunities for expansion, upsell, and additional engagement
    • Maintain strong communication and follow-through across all stakeholders

Required Qualifications
 
  • 5+ years of experience including:
    1. Retail energy, energy procurement, or related markets (required)
    2. Business development, account management, or sales support roles
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Based in Chicago (required for in-person meetings and events)
