The name “Messari” came from the Franciscan monks who declared "clean books" a moral imperative during the renaissance and pushed merchants to use proper accounting methods. This led to the flourishing of investment via "trust but verify" methods and industry growth throughout Europe. That's what we aim to do. - Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, to drive new business and expand existing relationships Institutions and protocol customers.
- Build deep, trust-based relationships with founders, core teams, senior executives, and key decision-makers by understanding their goals, workflows, and challenges.
- Act as a trusted, solution-oriented advisor, tailoring Messari’s research, data, and SaaS offerings to meet customer needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring consistent value delivery, satisfaction, and long-term partnership success.
- Navigate complex buying environments, including decentralized governance forums, enterprise procurement processes, and multi-stakeholder decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Research teams to structure proposals, support integrations, and deliver best-in-class solutions.
- Collect, synthesize, and communicate customer feedback clearly and effectively to inform product roadmap and strategic priorities.
- Represent Messari at industry conferences, events, and client meetings globally to build pipeline, strengthen partnerships, and stay close to market trends.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting while consistently exceeding sales targets.
- 3–5+ years of experience in sales or business development at a technology, fintech, professional services, or crypto company.
- Proven track record of owning full sales cycles and consistently exceeding quota, ideally in complex or high-value deal environments.
- Strongly customer-obsessed, with a natural ability to build trust and deliver value-driven solutions.
- Comfortable engaging with founders, protocol contributors, executives, and senior stakeholders across diverse organizations.
- Clear, confident communicator who can articulate complex ideas, products, and data both internally and externally.
- Highly organized and disciplined in pipeline management, forecasting, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about crypto/Web3, with a solid understanding of industry dynamics, protocols, and key players.
- Self-motivated and independent, while thriving in a collaborative, cross-functional culture.
- Willing and able to travel regularly for conferences, events, and client meetings.
- Experience selling SaaS, data, research, or analytics solutions.
- Existing relationships with crypto founders, core teams, exchanges, or institutional investors.
- Prior experience working with or selling into crypto protocols, DAOs, foundations, or governance forums.
- Familiarity with enterprise procurement processes and contract negotiation.
- Background in consultative or solution-based sales.
- Proven ability to surface customer insights that influence product strategy or roadmap decisions.
- Comfort with public speaking, moderating panels, or representing a brand at industry events.
