Job Description:


How You’ll Make an Impact:

Accounting & Bookkeeping Services

  • Prepare and post journal entries, including complex transactions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare compiled financial statements and customized client reports.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation and amortization.
  • Review financial information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Assist with year-end accounting activities and financial reporting.

Payroll & Tax Support

  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payment vouchers.
  • Research payroll tax requirements and registrations across jurisdictions.
  • Respond to payroll tax notices and correspondence from taxing authorities.
  • Prepare individual, partnership, S-corporation, and corporate tax returns of moderate complexity.
  • Assist with tax planning and tax liability projections.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate recommendations.

Client Advisory & Controller Services

  • Serve as a primary contact for assigned accounting, payroll, and tax clients.
  • Review trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets.
  • Prepare adjusting and reclassification journal entries.
  • Review account reconciliations, loan activity, and fixed asset transactions.
  • Help clients address accounting, tax, and operational challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with business owners, managers, and stakeholders.

Systems & Process Support

  • Maintain and support client accounting software systems.
  • Assist with software implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Train client personnel on accounting and payroll software usage.
  • Establish and maintain charts of accounts.
  • Update and verify vendor and customer records.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and support less experienced accounting team members.
  • Assist with training and onboarding activities.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and professional team environment.

Your Desired Skills, Experiences and Education

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
  • Proficiency with accounting and payroll software applications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and identify potential issues.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to explain technical financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
