CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant II to join our team! In this role, you will perform intermediate-level accounting transactions, financial reporting, and financial analysis while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles, company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Responsibilities include preparing regulatory filings, analyzing financial data, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and supporting both internal and external audits. Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory reports/filings for the Company and its subsidiaries; analyze filing documents for variances and or anomalies; works collaboratively with senior staff and manager in the analysis of complex accounting issues.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries; prepare and review account reconciliations; assist in the validation of general ledger balances and financial statement line items; participates in month-end close process.
  • Participates with and provides support for internal and external audits; prepares audit work-papers that support the various audits.

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 1-3 years related experience in an accounting environment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, insurance accounting principles and procedures, and the laws and regulations that apply to accounting and regulatory compliance.
  • Intermediate analytical skills to accurately analyze large volumes of numerical data.
  • Intermediate level analysis, evaluation skills & mathematical reasoning to efficiently resolve errors within a financial process, system workflow logic, or procedure.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge in utilizing accounting systems for transaction processing.
  • Analytical with attention to detail, strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines

 

Salary Range:

  • $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually
  • Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
  • In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.

Benefits:

  • We provide some benefits at no cost to the employee (Basic Life Insurance and AD&D at two times an employee’s annual salary, Short- and Long-term Disability coverage, and Employee Assistant Plan).
  • Employees will accrue 0.0769 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 20 days a year. In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
