About the role
The Accounting Manager position is perfect for an experienced professional looking to further their career as a professional in the FinTech space. With a mix of team members with successful past startup exits, significant experience within the finance industry, and prestigious machine learning experience. What you'll do
- Oversee the performance and deliverables of Senior Accounting Specialists, ensuring accuracy in month-end close, reporting, and advanced accounting tasks.
- Mentor team members in accrual accounting, job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create clear growth paths.
- Manage team, clients, and their scope of work to ensure internal and external deadlines are met.
- Spearhead solutions with clients and step in to manage client interactions as needed.
- Ensure and manage the seamless transition of high-quality bookkeeping clients to the appropriate internal teams for expanded services
- Build and implement scalable bookkeeping processes that allow UPLINQ to provide high quality bookkeeping services at scale.
- Build, document, and refine SOPs and workflows aligned with Uplinq’s automation-first approach.
- Provide input to engineers and product team to ensure UPLINQ’s internal bookkeeping system and automation are being built to streamline UPLINQ’s service offerings in line with accounting standards.
Qualifications
- CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Significant experience with start-to-end bookkeeping, including but not limited to categorization, reconciliation, AR/AP, payroll-related journals and financial statements review.
- Experience hiring and scaling an accounting team.
- Experience creating and implementing accounting processes within a team.
- Experience working closely with other department leads.
- Desire to approach accounting fundamentals with technology; possessing an open mind, adaptability, and excitement about UPLINQ’s vision.
- 7+ years of accounting experience (small business or firm-based), with at least 3 years supervising or mentoring accounting professionals.
