  • Assist with pricing analyses, including gathering and validating model inputs and running standard pricing and exposure tools under the direction of senior underwriters.
  • ·Monitor and analyze the Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) and Dairy Revenue Protection (DRP) commodities markets, tracking price movements, indemnity triggers, and program participation trends to inform underwriting and portfolio decisions.
  • Support the daily execution and monitoring of options trading activity tied to the company's agriculture hedging strategy, including tracking positions, pricing, and market exposure across relevant commodity instruments.
  • Assist in the valuation and risk assessment of hedging positions, reconciling traded positions against portfolio exposures and escalating material variances to senior staff.
  • Track CME Group futures and options markets (e.g., feeder cattle, fed cattle, milk Class III/IV) relevant to LRP and DRP coverage, maintaining current market data feeds and pricing references.
  • Review primary policy, reinsurance contract, and endorsement wording to support underwriters in confirming terms and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate submission logs, bordereaux, and portfolio data, ensuring records are complete and current.
  • Maintain detailed records of hedging transactions, option expirations, and settlement activity, ensuring accurate and auditable documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports in partnership with Accounting, Finance, Claims, and Actuarial — including hedge performance summaries and LRP/DRP portfolio exposure reports.
  • Support the monitoring and management of the global agriculture portfolio, tracking metrics relevant to profitability and portfolio construction.
  • Respond to data requests from brokers and ceding company clients and help maintain strong working relationships.
  • Monitor agriculture reinsurance market data and assist in identifying trends and cycles relevant to the portfolio — with particular attention to USDA RMA program changes, commodity price cycles, and basis risk in livestock and dairy markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, agricultural economics, mathematics, statistics, risk management, actuarial science, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in (re)insurance, financial analysis, data analysis, commodities trading, or a related field; strong internship experience considered.

  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with and organizing large data sets; familiarity with data and pricing tools a plus. Experience with Bloomberg, CME Direct, or similar commodity market platforms is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with excellent attention to detail — capable of working with time-sensitive market data and making accurate calculations under pressure.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across underwriting, actuarial, finance, trading, and claims.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment — including daily market monitoring routines alongside longer-cycle analytical work.
