The VIM Portfolio Management team oversees the Ventas Investment Management platform, driving performance across funds and joint ventures. The team collaborates with internal partners and investors to align strategy, optimize returns, and deliver consistent results. This function connects capital, execution, and insight to strengthen Ventas as a leading healthcare real estate investment manager.

About the Role

The Analyst, Portfolio Management supports portfolio management, investment analysis, and reporting across the VIM platform, with a focus on translating performance data into actionable insights. The Analyst will work closely with the VIM Managing Director, senior team members, and cross‑functional partners across Investments, Asset Management, FP&A, Treasury, and Accounting. The position offers meaningful exposure to institutional investors, joint venture partners, and Ventas senior leadership

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support portfolio‑level analysis across VIM investment vehicles, including monitoring operating performance, capital activity, and key financial metrics
  • Assist in the preparation of portfolio reports, investor materials, and internal presentations for senior leadership and joint venture partners
  • Support acquisition and investment analysis by assisting with underwriting, scenario analysis, and evaluation of potential transactions and their impact on existing portfolios
  • Partner with Asset Management to understand asset‑level operating trends and support analysis of performance drivers and value creation opportunities
  • Coordinate with FP&A and Accounting to support fund‑level reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and alignment with Ventas enterprise performance management
  • Assist with quarterly valuation and appraisal processes by working with internal teams and external appraisers
  • Support investor relations activities by helping prepare marketing materials, responding to information requests, and maintaining organized reporting deliverables
  • Participate in special projects related to portfolio strategy, process improvement, and platform growth
  • Build and maintain financial models, analyses, and presentation materials in Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate, investments, portfolio management, FP&A, asset management, investment banking, or consulting, ideally with exposure to institutional capital, funds, or joint ventures
  • Must be located in the Chicago, IL surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with three days per week in the office
  • Strong analytical skillset with the ability to translate financial and operating data into clear insights; advanced Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience supporting portfolio reporting, investment analysis, budgeting/forecasting, or valuation processes in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast‑paced setting
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

The estimated base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $125,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
