Epic Application Advisor 

at Cardamom 

Hybrid in Madison, WI or Remote (Anywhere in U.S.) 

 

Your Role: 

We are looking for a talented and experienced Epic Application Advisor to join our team. As an Epic Application Advisor, you will assume a leadership role in implementing and maintaining the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system for our clients. You will work as a part of a team-based culture to meet our client’s support needs while mentoring others and having fun! 

 

As an Epic Application Advisor at Cardamom, you will: 

  • Lead the strategic direction and execution of complex, high-priority projects, ensuring alignment between the Cardamom Team, Epic Team, and client stakeholders to achieve project goals. 
  • Provide expert-level guidance and advisory support to clients and internal teams, utilizing your deep Epic system knowledge to enhance system performance and user satisfaction. 
  • Oversee and contribute to system analysis, design, and execution, ensuring comprehensive solutions, clear specifications, and high-quality builds that meet client needs. 
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex system issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions to improve system stability and user experience. 
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, workflows, and processes, ensuring accessibility for both technical and client-facing needs. 
  • Establish and maintain internal documentation practices, develop knowledge bases, best practice guides, and training materials to support team collaboration and process consistency. 
  • Champion the change control process, overseeing the migration of application builds and ensuring compliance with standards while maintaining thorough internal documentation. 
  • Drive and mentor teams in ad hoc projects and internal initiatives, contributing strategic insights and developing documentation to reflect lessons learned and outcomes. 
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), proactively identifying issues and documenting trends for internal review and future planning. 
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between leadership, cross-functional teams, and end users, ensuring key decisions and action items are documented for accountability. 

Our ideal Epic Application Analyst will have:  

  • Epic certification(s) with expertise in multiple Epic modules, a proven track record of leading successful implementations, optimizations, and upgrades across complex environments. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in application support, implementation, and training within the Epic ecosystem, with a focus on advanced workflows and technical leadership. 
  • Leadership in cross-functional teams, managing escalations, and mentoring junior analysts while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizations. 
  • Advanced knowledge of ITIL processes, leading service management operations to ensure quality service delivery. 
  • Ability to strategically guide system optimization and user experience improvements, collaborating with stakeholders to align IT initiatives with business objectives. 
  • Availability for on-call rotations outside of business hours, with demonstrated success in managing critical issues during off-peak periods.
