Application Support

Position Summary

The Application Support Manager leads a team responsible for the production support, stability, availability, and operational readiness of business-critical banking applications. This role oversees Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Disaster Recovery processes while partnering with Business, Application Development, Infrastructure, Middleware, Cloud, Security, and Vendor teams to deliver reliable and compliant technology services. The manager is accountable for service availability, operational excellence, team leadership, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Application Support teams providing L1, L2, and L3 production support.
  • Ensure 24x7 support coverage and operational support for business-critical applications.
  • Manage Major Incidents, production outages, escalations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee application onboarding, Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR), production acceptance, and support transitions
  • Lead Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and recovery validation activities
  • Drive SLA attainment, operational metrics, reporting, automation, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, operational documentation, and audit-ready support processes
  • Manage relationships with business stakeholders, application owners, vendors, and technology teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Information Technology experience in Application Production Support, Application Operations, Production Support, Middleware Support, Infrastructure Operations, or Technology Services.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a banking, financial services, or regulated environment preferred.

Required Banking Experience

Experience supporting one or more of the following:

  • Commercial Banking Applications
  • Commercial Loans and Commercial Lending Platforms
  • Loan Origination and Loan Servicing Systems
  • Treasury Management and Cash Management Solutions
  • Payment Processing, Wire Transfers, ACH, and SWIFT
  • Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance Applications
  • Core Banking, Customer Onboarding, Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory Reporting Systems

Required Technical Skills

  • Application Production Support (L1/L2/L3)
  • Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management
  • ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platform
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
  • Root Cause Analysis and Operational Support Governance
  • SLA/KPI Management and Executive Reporting
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management

Preferred Technical Experience

  • Linux and Windows Server Platforms
  • Middleware Technologies (Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic)
  • IBM MQ, Managed File Transfer (MFT), and AutoSys
  • AWS Cloud Services
  • Dynatrace, Splunk, and Enterprise Monitoring Platforms

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Foundation
  • AWS Cloud Certification
  • PMP, Scrum, or Agile Certification

Education:

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

The typical base pay range for this role is as follows:

  • New York / New Jersey: $130k - $159k
  • Non-/New York/ New jersey: $112 - $144k

depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
