Job summary
The Application Specialist serves as a technical resource within the Product Support team, providing product and application expertise for vinyl films, adhesives, laminates, tapes, and related materials. This role works directly with customers and internal teams to recommend products, troubleshoot application concerns, conduct hands-on testing, and provide practical technical solutions.
Essential functions- Provide technical product and application support to customers, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, and other internal teams.
- Recommend products and alternatives based on substrate, environment, durability, removability, installation method, and end use.
- Troubleshoot product and application concerns through research, testing, and hands-on evaluation.
- Perform application testing involving adhesion, vinyl application, cutting, printing, laminating, substrates, and related processes.
- Support customer complaints, claims, and RMAs by gathering information, evaluating samples, documenting findings, and assisting with root-cause investigations.
- Partner with Quality, R&D, Product Management, Production, and Sales to resolve technical issues and evaluate product performance.
- Maintain accurate technical, testing, CRM, and RMA documentation.
- Develop strong knowledge of the company’s product portfolio, technical data, application guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Create and deliver product/application training and technical resources for customers and internal teams.
- Participate in customer demonstrations, product trials, technical projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in vinyl graphics, printing, sign manufacturing, adhesives, converting, manufacturing, technical support, or a related industry preferred.
- Hands-on experience with vinyl applications, printing, laminating, cutting, or installation is highly desirable.
- Strong technical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional manufacturing teams.
- Microsoft Office proficiency; CRM experience preferred.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in technical, manufacturing, graphics, engineering, chemistry, or related field preferred.
