Job Title:Arts Engagement Specialist

Department:Wexner Center for Arts | Learning and Public Practice-JM

Plans, develops, and facilitates a public arts engagement activity for approximately 100 participants as part of a free community pop-up studio event hosted in partnership with the Wexner Center for the Arts, the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks, and the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center. Creates project materials and instructional resources, prepares supplies, and provides direct instruction and support to participants during the event.

Duties

40% Program Planning and Development

  • Designs and develops an art/craft activity appropriate for participants of varying ages and experience levels.
  • Creates project samples, instructional materials, and supply lists.
  • Develops project instructions and learning resources for participant use.

30% Materials Preparation and Event Coordination

  • Procures, organizes, and prepares materials and supplies needed for participant activities.
  • Assembles project materials and prepares workstations for participant use.
  • Coordinates activity logistics to support successful event implementation.

25% Program Facilitation and Community Engagement

  • Provides demonstrations and hands-on instruction during the event.
  • Engages participants, answers questions, and supports participation in the activity.
  • Promotes a welcoming and inclusive environment for community members.

5% Program Support and Follow-Up

  • Assists with event setup and cleanup activities.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations for future community arts programming as requested.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Additional Information:

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $19.28 - $25.19.  The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
