Your Role 

The Assistant Controller will serve as a key technical accounting leader within the global Finance organization, partnering closely with the Controller to oversee consolidated financial reporting, complex accounting matters, global audits, and internal controls across a multi-entity international environment.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong public accounting experience who are looking to transition into an industry leadership position while continuing to leverage deep technical accounting expertise.

 

Typical Experience 
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience (Big 4 or nationally recognized firm strongly preferred).

 

Key Responsibilities 
Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting 
  • Lead research and analysis of complex or non-routine accounting transactions under US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Prepare technical accounting memoranda and position papers to support key judgments and conclusions.
  • Assist in preparation and review of consolidated financial statements for multiple domestic and international entities.
  • Oversee consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency considerations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.

 

Audit & Compliance Leadership 
  • Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors during annual financial statement audits and statutory audits of foreign subsidiaries.
  • Coordinate global audit activities, including FAR audits and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Support implementation and documentation of internal controls in alignment with evolving accounting standards.
  • Assist with goodwill impairment testing and other complex accounting estimates.
  • Support annual tax provision and regulatory filing requirements.

 

Strategic & Operational Partnership 
  • Partner with Finance leadership to drive consistency in accounting policies and practices across the global organization.
  • Support accounting implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal control effectiveness.
  • Maintain and evolve the global chart of accounts to ensure scalability and alignment across entities.
  • Provide financial insight and technical guidance to cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Operations, and IT.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for core accounting operations including accounts payable, expense processing, payroll coordination, and general ledger activities.
  • Support global budgeting and forecasting processes through financial analysis and collaboration with Finance leadership.
  • Analyze financial results and variances to evaluate operating performance and support decision-making.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to accounting staff and support development within the Finance team.

 

Required Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA required or actively pursuing certification strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred; candidates currently working in public accounting and seeking to transition into industry are encouraged to apply.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience with multinational or multi-entity organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting financial statement audits.

 

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or nationally recognized firm preferred).
  • Experience with consolidation and reporting systems (OneStream or similar).
  • Experience with ERP systems (Deltek or similar preferred).
  • Exposure to global statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting research skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex accounting matters to non-financial stakeholders.

  

 

Salary Range Information

We additionally review our pay practices, conduct pay equity audits, and ensure our managers are trained in our pay practices on an annual basis. At the time of posting this job advertisement, the annual pay salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $165,000 commensurate with qualifications.
