Ameresco is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant BAS Controls Project Manager to join our team. As an Assistant BAS Controls Project Manager, you will assist in the management and coordination of DDC control system projects in commercial buildings. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, controls engineering, and client communication while working alongside experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Project Manager in planning, executing, and closing out DDC control system projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Assist in defining project requirements, goals, and deliverables, and contribute to the development of project plans and schedules.
  • Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional project teams, including controls engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, to facilitate effective project execution.
  • Help manage project budgets by tracking project expenses, monitoring costs, and assisting with cost control measures.
  • Support the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules, tracking progress, identifying critical path activities, and assisting in the resolution of project delays or
  • issues.
  • Assist in maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a point of contact for project-related communication, and providing timely updates on project status.
  • Participate in project meetings, including kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and closeout meetings, documenting meeting minutes and action items as required.
  • Assist in conducting project site visits and inspections to ensure construction progress aligns with project specifications, and support troubleshooting efforts as needed.
  • Contribute to the management of project change orders, assisting in assessing the impact on scope, schedule, and budget, and facilitating client approvals.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation, including project plans, drawings, specifications, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to DDC controls, building automation systems, and project management methodologies.
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in project pre-sales activities, providing technical expertise, project scoping, and cost estimations for potential projects.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment, and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in project management or controls engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive and self-motivated mindset, with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of controls engineering principles, building automation systems, and DDC controls.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to the resolution of project-related challenges.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders at various levels.
  • A proactive and self-motivated mindset, with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
