The ideal candidate has a background in hospitality, entertainment, or event management, with experience in live hosting, guest service, and operational execution. Key Job Responsibilities
- Host and lead engaging activities, including game shows, trivia, dance classes, themed parties, sports events, and Kids Club events in both English and Dutch.
- Interact with guests to enhance their experience, gather feedback, and ensure entertainment offerings meet diverse interests.
- Develop and oversee a well-balanced entertainment schedule, coordinating with other departments to maximize participation.
- Manage resources, ensuring all equipment and supplies are well-maintained and available when needed.
- Lead, train, and supervise the activities team, including Activities Crew and Youth Hosts, providing regular feedback and support.
- Conduct team meetings to discuss performance, align on entertainment goals, and ensure smooth operations.
- Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling, time & attendance oversight, and activity programming.
- Adapt to itinerary changes, last-minute adjustments, and unexpected challenges while maintaining a high level of service.
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
- Make clear, engaging, and informative public announcements as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company dress guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Cruise Director to execute entertainment initiatives and uphold brand standards.
Experience
Minimum Experience:
- Three years of experience in a related guest service focused field.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Experience hosting live events, activities, or stage presentations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Must be fluent in Dutch.
Preferred Experience:
- 3+ years in cruise industry, 5+ entertainment experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field of study.
- Customer-focused role, proven success in interpersonal communication
- Proven success in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary role requiring high levels of organization, professionalism, and quick problem-solving.
