About DX
DX is one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in the country, helping engineering leaders build high-performing, productive teams. Our platform delivers actionable insights into developer experience and productivity - empowering companies like Netflix, Uber, Dell, Pfizer, and Vanguard to operate at their best.
DX has grown from a bootstrapped startup into a category-defining company with a customer base that spans some of the most sophisticated engineering organizations in the world. We recently closed on our acquisition by Atlassian , which means more resources behind our mission, faster product innovation, and an even bigger impact for the teams who rely on us.
How we work at DX:
Companies have all kinds of culture slides. At DX, we want to be very clear about what we care about and how we judge performance. For us, it all boils down to individual mastery, becoming the best at your craft. Those who exhibit this quality will thrive here and be unduly rewarded. We can't control outcomes due to competitors, the economy, decision-makers, etc., but what we can control is doing our jobs at the highest level possible.
About the role
We're looking for a Marketing Data Analyst to power the data behind DX's external research and industry reports. You'll report into the marketing team and be responsible for running the recurring analyses that underpin our widely read, external-facing reports on developer experience, developer productivity, and the impact of AI in engineering organizations.
Your primary job is to make sure our numbers are consistent, reliable, and transparent. You'll own the data pulls, cleaning, and baseline analyses on DX's customer base and external benchmarks, so lead authors and senior stakeholders can focus on interpretation, narrative, and strategic questions.
This role is ideal for someone early in their analytics career who loves working with data, cares about getting the details right, and is excited by the idea that their work will be seen and used by leaders across the software industry.

This is a wide-ranging role, and what you work on will evolve as our reports and data mature. Below are examples of the types of projects and analyses you'll own or support.

What you'll work on
This is a wide-ranging role, and what you work on will evolve as our reports and data mature. Below are examples of the types of projects and analyses you'll own or support.
Recurring analyses and benchmarks
- Run and maintain the core analyses that power our quarterly AI Impact reports and other external research
- Produce and update industry benchmarks for developer experience and developer productivity using DX's customer data and external sources
- Ensure that methodologies, definitions, and calculations are consistent across time so readers can trust trends and comparisons
Data quality, transparency, and documentation
- Clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Document assumptions, methods, and data sources so our analyses are transparent and reproducible
Support for lead authors and marketing
- Partner with lead authors and marketers to scope analyses that answer specific questions for each report
- Provide first-pass cuts of the data (tables, charts, segment breakdowns) that can be used in drafts and visualizations
- Respond to follow-up questions like "Is this real?", "What happens if we slice it this way?", or "How does this compare to last quarter?"
Exploration and trend-spotting
- When time allows, dig into the data to surface interesting patterns, anomalies, or emerging trends that could be valuable to our customers
- Propose additional analyses or angles that might strengthen a report or inspire new content
How you work
If you see yourself in the list below, we'd love to hear from you.
- 4+ years of experience in an analytical role (e.g., data analyst, business analyst, marketing analyst, or similar), or equivalent experience
- Comfortable working with data tools (spreadsheets, SQL, BI tools, or similar) to clean, transform, and analyze datasets
- Obsessed with accuracy and consistency: you care about definitions, edge cases, and making sure the same question gets the same answer every time
- Able to clearly document how an analysis was done so others can understand and reproduce it
- Curious about the "why" behind the numbers and willing to dig deeper when something looks off or interesting
- Comfortable working with stakeholders who are not data experts and explaining your work in plain language
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage recurring deadlines (e.g., quarterly reporting cycles) without heavy oversight
It's nice if you have:
- Experience working with SaaS or B2B data, especially in a product, engineering, or developer-focused context
- Familiarity with survey data, time-series data, or benchmarking studies
- Experience using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools for analysis (beyond spreadsheets)
- Ability to write about data and trends in a clear, conversational way that helps readers understand what's happening and why it matters to them
- Prior experience contributing to external-facing reports, blog posts, or thought leadership content
What you're looking for:
You're looking for a role where you can:
- Do real, hands-on analysis that gets used in public, not just internal dashboards that no one reads
- Build a strong foundation in data analysis while working closely with experienced marketers and researchers
- Take ownership of recurring analyses and be trusted to get the details right
- See your work show up in widely read industry reports that influence how engineering leaders think about world-class software engineering, developer experience, and AI
- Grow over time into deeper analysis, storytelling with data, or more senior analytics roles as your skills develop
