Associate Fund Accountant
Hybrid Work Schedule in Livingston, NJ (three days in office per week)
Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Some of the things you will be doing:
- Prepare and maintain accounting records, supporting schedules, and financial reports for assigned clients
- Process and reconcile cash activity, including recording journal entries and preparing wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Record and reconcile investment activity, such as purchases and sales, and interest accruals/income
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive workpapers that fully reconcile and support the trial balance
- Prepare IRS Form 1099 in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure standard procedures and controls are adhered to
- Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve inquiries, and provide status updates
- Ensure all processes are in line with the SLA and escalate when needed
- Support the year end audit process as well as SOC 1 audit and SBA exam
- Participate in projects focused on improving operational efficiency, including automation of Excel-based calculations and enhancement of workpaper processes
- Perform internal tasks, including mandatory training and time tracking
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
- BS Degree in Accounting preferred or other degree with strong foundation in accounting principles through relevant coursework
- Experience in fund or partnership accounting, with a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, XIRR, and use of named ranges
- Experience with Investran or similar fund accounting system(s) a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000 to $65,000.
