The Associate Product Manager role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and execution of product strategies, ensuring alignment with market needs and business goals. Responsibilities include supporting product roadmaps, conducting market research, and assisting in the coordination of product-related activities to enhance overall product success.

Primary Responsibilities:

Client and Stakeholder

  • Provides strategic leadership in overall management across multiple domains, ensuring alignment with corporate and solutions strategy.
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives, engages stakeholders at all levels, and conducts in-depth member and market research to inform decision-making.
  • Takes full ownership of defining and managing the overall product strategy and vision, aligning with other teams across the company to promote integration and consistency of experience.
  • Collaborates closely with business stakeholders, such as sales and service teams, to develop a deep understanding of client business needs.
  • Engages in in-depth conversations with the sales team to gain insights into factors contributing to wins and losses.

Product Leadership 

  • Defines the product vision by understanding market trends, customer needs, and business goals.
  • Proactively identifies integration opportunities across portfolios to drive synergies and maximize value for the organization.
  • Establishes a strong partnership with the competitive intelligence group to translate research findings into actionable product-specific intelligence.
  • Identifies gaps in the overall product portfolio and strategically positions the organization to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Provides strategic guidance to ensure that product roadmap decisions are driven by market insights, customer needs, and business value.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation: 

  • Develops the product strategy by collaborating with stakeholders to devise a comprehensive strategy considering market dynamics, competition, and opportunities.
  • Takes a strategic approach to coordinate and conduct member-specific voice of customer interviews.
  • Utilizes senior-level expertise to guide the framing of business requirements and drive effective collaboration.
  • Collaborates closely with the agile owner and application development team to obtain relative feature sizing in terms of timing, cost, and technical requirements.
  • Designs comprehensive product portfolio plans in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Coordination with Application Development: 
  • Leads, collaborates with, and motivates a cross-functional team of user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers, and others.
  • Takes a leadership role in initiating and coordinating product-related projects, ensuring cross-functional alignment and successful implementation of plans.
  • Provides strategic guidance in prioritizing and coordinating UAT efforts to deliver high-quality products to the market.
  • Coordinates activities across matrixed project teams, including application development and other key stakeholders, to ensure alignment with the product vision and strategic objectives.

Sales Enablement

  • Actively participates in build, buy, and partner conversations, providing valuable feedback on decisions and investments for business cases.
  • Actively supports the sales team in active opportunities by developing sales collateral and ensuring the team has the necessary resources and tools.
  • Engages in budget conversations, leveraging senior-level insights to inform decision-making and drive financial efficiency.
  • Develops product portfolio positioning and messaging strategies that resonate with target buyer personas.
  • Collaborates closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment with market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.

Role Requirements:

  • 10+ years in product management or other related role
  • Bachelors degree preferred

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.
