About the Role:
You will be a member of the software engineering team supporting the Main Trade Capture (MTC) block, a globally distributed organization structured into regional support groups and is responsible for the systems that capture, validate, and process trades throughout their lifecycle.
The team builds, operates, and supports large-scale trade ingestion and processing platforms, including low-latency, message-driven enterprise applications and high-throughput batch-processing systems. These platforms process millions of messages per day and are engineered for performance, scalability, resiliency, and data integrity in a highly regulated environment.
As part of the team, you will work hands-on with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and downstream clearing and settlement integrations. You will collaborate closely with business users, operations, and production support to diagnose and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, enhance existing functionality, and deliver new capabilities that support ABN AMRO Clearing's global trading and post-trade operations while meeting strict SLA, control, and regulatory requirements.
This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a min of 3 days per week onsite in office.

Responsibilities:
- You will work on a team that owns the day-to-day operations related to Trade Capture
- Design software systems that can scale with increasing volumes, with a strong emphasis on high-availability standards, efficiency, and resilience
- Support and troubleshoot enterprise applications to locate issues and resolve them.
- Work in an agile environment to meet the needs of stakeholders for both existing applications and new development
- Work together with the Product Owners, Business Developers, and other IT Engineers in the organization
- Prepare the application landscape for movement towards future containerized platforms.
Basic Requirements:
- 3+ Years of demonstrable experience in Java, with 2+ years of C# strongly preferred, internship experience applicable
- Bachelors degree in computer Science and/or a strong Computer Science core fundamentals including algorithmic complexity analysis, data structures, and design/implementation tradeoffs
- Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL preferred)
- Ability to create clear & concise documentation
Preferred Requirements:
- 1+ Years of Python experience
- Experience with AWS cloud or OpenShift development
- Experience with CI/CD integration (Jenkins/Gitlab)
- Experience with containerized development concepts
