Succession Resource Group (SRG) is a boutique consulting firm specializing in succession planning, valuation, and transaction advisory for financial advisors, RIAs, and other small business owners. We help clients value, grow, protect, and plan the transition of their businesses — pairing deep technical expertise with white-glove, strategy-first service across valuation, equity and compensation design, entity work, succession readiness, and buy- and sell-side transactions.

We're just as intentional about how we work. SRG is a fully remote team across nearly a dozen states and a two-time honoree on Inc.'s Best Workplaces list (2024 and 2026), a recognition earned through anonymous employee feedback. Our culture runs on one commitment — Show Up Daily — for our clients, our craft, and each other.

Succession Resource Group is a 100% remote firm. This role does not require travel or transportation, nor does it require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable qualified individuals to perform these essential functions.

Description

As a Team Solutions Associate, your support keeps our client engagements running smoothly. Working under the direction of the team’s Senior Consultant, you will help the team as we form and restructure business entities, prepare governance documents, and execute mergers and reorganizations for financial advisors. You will prepare and assemble deliverables from templates, consultant strategies, and client input; coordinate meetings, filings, and timelines; keep projects organized; and follow through on the details, including coordination with outside parties such as state agencies. The role calls for strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. We are looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who brings consistent go-getter energy, thrives in a collaborative remote team, and is genuinely eager to keep learning complex, technical material.

This is an associate-level role centered on coordination and support, working largely behind the scenes. Client-facing updates, status, and next steps flow through our project management system, with scheduling as the primary administrative, client-facing touchpoint. Associates who excel will use this role as a foundation to build the judgment and technical depth needed to step into a client-facing consulting role, typically within 3–6 years.

When You Join SRG

  • Continuous learning and apprenticeship. You'll learn by doing, alongside experienced consultants who invest in your development. Feedback here is frequent, direct, and aimed at helping you grow — and the associates who get the most out of it are the ones who take it to heart and own their trajectory.
  • Your ideas matter from day one. We value initiative and fresh thinking at every level. You'll have real opportunities to shape how we solve problems and improve how we work.
  • A clear path to consulting work. Through mentorship, coaching, and growing exposure to client engagements, you'll build the judgment and technical depth to move toward a client-facing consulting role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Initiates tasks independently and sees them through to completion, supporting projects from inception to close by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Ensures documents are correctly formatted, proofread, and upload-ready before submission
  • Coordinates entity filings and registrations with third-party resources and/or state agencies, including formations and amendments, and tracks filing status and deadlines
  • Coordinates with outside parties to gather information, complete and publish filings, and keep deliverables moving
  • Monitors project progress and identifies potential risks or issues, promptly flagging them to keep projects on track
  • Uses data, facts, and logical reasoning to prioritize work and make sound day-to-day coordination decisions
  • Manages time effectively to meet responsibilities and deadlines in a complex, largely autonomous environment
  • Attends project and client meetings in a support capacity and turns the discussion into clear next steps — capturing the context behind the conversation, action items, and potential roadblocks, and following up to keep work moving (AI notetaking tools handle verbatim capture; this role owns the interpretation and follow-through)
  • Other project-based tasks, as assigned

2. Communication and Reporting:

  • Keeps client-facing updates, status, and next steps current in the project management system rather than corresponding with clients directly
  • Coordinates directly with third parties, including outside parties and state agencies, on filings, documentation, and follow-up
  • Logs and shares action items, status updates, and next steps with the project team and consultants through the project management system
  • Schedules client calls and coordinates calendars — the role's primary administrative, client-facing touchpoint
  • Fields incoming questions and routes them to the appropriate consultant or team member
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in English, in writing and verbally, adjusting style to suit different audiences and seniority levels
  • Highlights key metrics, achievements, and challenges to the Senior Consultant
  • Provides clear updates and action items to the project team

3. Documentation and Records:

  • Creates, monitors, and completes tasks in the project management system
  • Maintains the project management system by accurately updating client information, project progress, and assigned tasks
  • Organizes electronic files and records, including entity records and governance documentation
  • Ensures project files are organized and accessible for future reference

4. Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assesses project coordination processes and proposes improvements for increased efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collects and organizes process improvement recommendations and discussion topics for review during strategic team meetings

5. Research and Continuous Learning:

  • Assists with entity and jurisdictional research, gathering and organizing state filing requirements, governance considerations, and related data at the direction of the team
  • Actively builds depth in the complex, technical subject matter behind our services (e.g., entity structuring and formation, governance documents, and mergers and reorganizations)
  • Stays informed of recent industry updates
  • Stays informed of recent updates impacting the services provided by the Team Solutions team
  • Other research-related tasks, as needed

Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required (e.g., complex formulas, data organization, cap tables)
  • Strong working knowledge of the broader Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • Experience with CRM Systems (e.g. Salesforce) and Project Management Software
  • Comfortable coordinating with third parties such as outside parties and state agencies
  • Accuracy and sound judgment in following established processes, with a strong sense of when to escalate questions to the Senior Consultant
  • Comfortable working in a primarily behind-the-scenes support role, with client contact limited to administrative scheduling
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback and mentoring
  • Intellectually curious, with a demonstrated drive to master complex material
  • Self-motivated go-getter who takes initiative and sustains momentum without close supervision
  • Ambition to grow into a client-facing consulting role
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player with a positive "can do" attitude and resilience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with entity structure, formation, and filing, preferred
  • Experience with governance documents, contract preparation, or legal writing, preferred
  • Experience supporting mergers or reorganizations, preferred
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of experience in a related field

Essential Functions

All Associates must be able to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Organize tasks and information, and act independently to keep work moving
  • Coordinate and track project plans against clear goals and deadlines
  • Coordinate with external parties such as state agencies and registered agents to complete filings and documentation
  • Prioritize effectively and make sound day-to-day decisions to meet deadlines
  • Comprehend written content (e.g., emails, articles, spreadsheets, and governance documents) and synthesize it into a clear, communicable format, written or verbal
  • Prepare work-product materials from templates, which may include entity and governance documents, Excel models, memos, and other written deliverables
  • Initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion
  • Communicate effectively and in a structured manner, primarily in writing, with colleagues consultants, and third parties across all seniority levels
  • Collaborate across time zones using digital productivity and communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams, email, video conferencing)
  • Manage time effectively to meet all deadlines in a complex and largely autonomous environment
  • Adapt to dynamic business needs that may change or evolve over time
  • Give and receive frequent mentoring and targeted feedback to support your own growth and the team's effectiveness

Flexibility and Coverage

SRG is a small, collaborative team. Responsibilities may temporarily shift or expand to provide coverage during team member absences or to meet changing business needs, as directed by the Senior Consultant.
